Relection on the "Black Box"


The image chosen reflects on the environment that I am trying to create with retrospect to my two clients, Stephen Hawking and Charles Darwin. The design features of the image are similar to my integration of prism in terms of its structure in order to facilitate the clients and create a lab space for them. The 'open' rectangles are a resemble a shape created in my design evident in my axonometric and parallel projection. The design of the shape on the right hand sand inspires a lab space for Stephen Hawking as it feels as though it is looking out into the universe, almost space ship like. This parallels to his interest in the universe and is the perfect window into space for his research.

Electroliquid Aggregation

Materials of gallery space - tile as this is very neutral and can therefore accommodate both artworks.

This image captures the space as a whole, above ground, the datum and below ground providing details of the structure of the building. It almost feels as though the above space has been lifted out of the open space in the ground from the formation of the shapes creating a link between the levels.

Materials above - glass, brick roofing and my custom texture of 'metallic.'

The above section represents the word 'clinical' and is based on Patricia Piccini's work "The Long Awaited." The alien like figure in her work alludes to the word choice of clinical due to the scientific nature of its creation. This space can be seen as clinical from the white sterile centerpiece as well as the symmetrical x's that creates the roofing and acts as skylights allowing light into the space. This image captures the above space encapsulating the roofing elements as well as the clinical nature of the studio space.


Materials below - vegetation, green glass balls, cement to support the structure, glass roof and my custom textures 'aqueous' and 'organic.'

The below section represents the word 'fresh' and is based Ricky Swallow's artwork "Killing Time". The word fresh was chosen based on the idea of the fish as fresh produce used in the commercial world. I have created a round underground piece with balls blossoming off its sides. This blossoming effect is furthered with the middle centerpiece. The fresh idea can also be seen in the glass roofing that allows natural light to enter within the space. This image reveals the below ground studio space making clear the fresh nature of the space as it reveals the blossoming of the space.
